It's unknown where the video exactly came from but some think it may have been inspired by a film.

It's thought that the video first began when streamer Kai Cenat did it in January 2024 alongside rapper DreamDoll during a live stream.

The idea is possibly inspired by the 2002 movie Paid in Full where which the phrase "just give me my money" is repeated several times.

The trend has been met with mixed reactions, with some loving the idea but some not finding very funny.

One TikTok user pointed out: "Call me goody two shoes, but i don't find the 'just give me my money' trend funny. like wdym you find joy in making people feel left out and anxious."
