PlayStation fans could be losing out as popular rewards programme is cancelled
EVERYBODY loves a deal, and one of the more popular ways to save money is via loyalty programmes.
PlayStation’s most popular rewards programme is PlayStation Stars, where players can receive store credit and free games for their purchases and playtime.
However, there is another PlayStation rewards programme that players use, and it will be shut down shortly.
Sony Rewards is a scheme where players earn points every time they make purchases with their Sony credit card.
These cards are like regular Visa credit cards, except every purchase you make can be used to earn free products.
Many of these rewards are PlayStation Store credit or PlayStation-themed clothes, but you can also get gift cards for other popular stores.

You can no longer join the Sony Rewards programme, and users will have to spend their points before the end of the year.
If you are part of Sony Rewards, you have until December 31, 2024, to exchange your reward points for gift cards and items.
After this date, the Sony Rewards website and catalogue will be closed down, and your points will be forfeited.
The Sony Rewards mobile app will also be shut down on this date.

If you have a Sony Rewards credit card, it is unclear whether it will be usable in the future.
While you can no longer earn rewards using the card, it’s likely that you will still be able to use the card to make purchases until it expires.
Further clarification on the future of the credit card will be given at a later date.
For now, the credit cards are still functional, and cardholders can continue to use them, but they will not earn Sony Rewards points.
