In a special memo to customers, Roku reveals how to get "more bang for your buck".
"Even though your Roku device has scores of premium channels (Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, etc.), there are plenty of free options in the Roku Channel Store that offer awesome movies and TV shows," said Roku's Bill Wilson.
"To get you the very best free content, we’ve asked our friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit and compiled a list of our community’s favorite free channels."
Here's the list:

The Roku Channel – what you need to know
Here's the lowdown...
The Roku Channel is a streaming app that's available on a range of devices.
It offers more than 400 live TV channels.
And it promises over 80,000 movies and TV shows on an on-demand basis.
Roku says that the app is available on:
- Roku streaming devices
- Compatible Samsung Smart TVs
- Compatible AMazon Fire TV devices
- TheRokuChannel.com website
- Roku mobile apps (iOS and Android)
Roku notes that the app is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It's also available in Mexico, but only on Roku devices.
"With a great mix of shows and limited commercials, I find shows there that are either not available on main streaming channels or are high priced per episode.
"Minimal interruptions make watching the Roku Channel a great alternative."
Amazon's own Freevee channel is also available on Roku devices, serving up an enormous library of content.
That's only fair, as The Roku Channel can be downloaded on Amazon Fire TV Sticks.
