Nintendo Switch players can grab five classic Mega Man games for free

Five games from one of the most popular series of all time are now free-to-play

NINTENDO Switch Online is one of the best gaming subscription deals, offering over 250 games for one low annual price.

Games aren’t added to the service with any regularity, but unlike other subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus, games are rarely removed from the service.

The five games recently added to the service can be grabbed from the cheaper tier of Nintendo Switch Online, which costs just £17.99/$19.99 a year.

Five games from the Mega Man series for Game Boy have been added to the service including Mega Man: Dr Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Mega Man 4, and Mega Man 5.

Mega Man was released on the Game Boy a few years after the NES releases the series is best known for.

They are independent titles from the NES releases, but some of the games borrow components such as bosses and level design from the NES games.

More in Nintendo

Mega Man: Dr Wily’s Revenge uses parts of the original Mega Man, and Mega Man 2 for the NES, while Mega Man 2 for the Game Boy uses parts from the NES versions of Mega Man 2 and 3.

The Game Boy version of Mega Man 3 uses parts from NES’ Mega Man 3 and 4, and Mega Man 4 for the Game Boy borrows from NES’ Mega Man 4 and 5.

Unlike the other titles on the Game Boy, Mega Man 5 is a completely new game and doesn’t borrow anything from the original NES titles.

All five Mega Man Game Boy games are now available as part of Nintendo Switch Online, and subscribers can play them at no extra cost.

If you want to play these games, firstly you need to download the Game Boy app from the Nintendo eShop, but this is free to do.

Then you can select the game you want to play for free via the app.
