Multiplayer shooter fans are in tears as the latest free Ubisoft game struggles to launch
UBISOFT is one of the biggest publishers around with popular franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.
Its latest multiplayer shooter, XDefiant, was first announced in 2021, and people have been eagerly awaiting a first chance to play.
Early previews compared it to the likes of Call of Duty, with the twist that you can play with characters from other Ubisoft franchises.
You can play as factions from other series, such as Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy, and Far Cry, giving it a different vibe to CoD.
However, it is still a multiplayer FPS, and fans of CoD were eager to test this new game.
XDefiant launched yesterday, May 21, 2024, and because it is free to play, everyone could dive in and try it out.

This caused problems for the majority of players, as everyone was eager to play the latest free game.
Many failed to get into a match, believing there to be problems with the server, while others complained about long wait times.
As the hype winds down for the new release, it seems to be easier to enter a game, and people seem to be enjoying it.
If you want to guarantee a spot on a squad, it could still be worth waiting a few more days until the player count stabilises.
It may also be worth trying at unpopular times such as regular working hours.
XDefiant is free and available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
