A SUPERSONIC plane that can carry 300 passengers in ultra-lux flights promises to bring science fiction to life.

The spaceship-like aircraft could fly from London to New York at incredible speed in less than five hours - with "no wings".

Designer Oscar Viñals from Barcelona, Spain, told The Sun that Sky OV Evo will include ultra luxurious amenities, including bedrooms, suites, bathrooms, and even an in-flight chef.

He said: "There will be private rooms for two travellers with a bedroom, living room and an en suite shower room.

"In the living room, you'll find a leather double seat sofa complete with dining tables, a 32-inch flat screen TV, noise-cancelling headsets, a comfortable double bed, a full-height shower, vanity unit, bathrobes and an in-flight chef at your service."

Other passengers will have individual spacious cabins complete with window blinds and a sliding door.

The aircraft would be able to reach a top speed of Mach 1.5 – around 1,150mph - thanks to its special engines.

He added that this plane's fuselage is more stylised than its predecessor - the Sky OV.

The aircraft's body is blended in with its wings, giving a look and feel of a spaceship straight out of Star Wars.

The sleek design aims to reduce drag and fuel consumption, enabling its mix of silent engines to reach super speeds at no extra cost to the environment.

Oscar said: "My other models were thought and designed for different purposes.

"This one in particular is the evolution of its predecessor the Sky OV.

The Sky OV supersonic could be the next generation of commercial airplane

"It was quite challenging because I specifically designed it to be the as eco-friendly as possible but at the same time have a high performance in all flight points and conditions."

A design rendering shows how passengers would sit across 12 long rows of up to 33 people each.

Explaining where he got the aerodynamic look from, Oscar said: "The main inspiration were the birds when they fly in 'gliding flight mode', reducing their power and energy to the minimum without losing a good performance. "

The Spaniard, who designs futuristic planes full-time, wanted to give his "personal vision" to the more conventional aeronautical and aerospace plane concepts.

Nobody has shown interest in building the Sky OV Evo yet, but Oscar said he has offering his expertise to engineers, helping them in other projects.

The plane designer said his brain is constantly firing up new ideas, including a flying saucer-inspired aircraft which he aims to finish soon.

The Sky OV evo is one of Oscar's latest designs since he came up with a super-jet that would surpass the speed and size of the legendary Concorde.

Hyper Sting is a concept plane that could whizz passengers from London to New York City in just 80 minutes in the near future.

The plane would travel at a speed of 2,486mph – twice as fast as Concorde.

Oscar previously told The Sun: "Concorde was a brilliant piece of machinery, a noble experiment.

"But it put too many emissions in the environment, too much noise into our communities, and was too expensive to operate.

"A new era of supersonic flight might be just around the corner, but there are challenges to overcome when it comes to flying faster than the speed of sound."

Today, there are some projects for a new era of supersonic flights from different private and public initiatives, some of those are well underway and could become in a few years a real concept."

Oscar Viñals sci-fi plane concepts

SEVERAL groundbreaking aircraft designs have been unveiled by Spanish designer Oscar Viñals.

What is Sky OV?

Sky OV is a concept plane that will not only fly at hyperfast speeds but it could carry as many as 300 passengers in a luxury flight.

It boasts insane top speeds of Mach 1.5, which is equivalent to around 1,150 miles per hour.

And the aircraft would be more environmentally friendly than today's planes.

Some of the most futuristic features of the aircraft include retractable wings, a transparent ceiling, and bladeless engines.

What is Hyper String?

Hyper Sting could whizz passengers from London to New York City in just 80 minutes.

The plane would travel at a speed of 2,486mph – twice as fast as the Concorde.

Measuring 328 feet long with a 168-foot wingspan, the aircraft would also be nearly twice its size.

Viñals says 170 passengers could enjoy travel aboard the Hyper Sting.

What is Magnavem?

Magnavem would also be able to reach a top speed of Mach 1.5 – around 1,150mph.

The aircraft would receive its power from a compact fusion reactor - using a process similar to the one that keeps the sun burning.

Oscar believes his plane could carry around 500 passengers.

And once certain technologies are more widely available, it could be ready for manufacture in 10 to 15 years.

Oscar added that the name Hyper Sting is influenced by the shape of the aircraft.

"The fuselage would have the shape of a 'big sting' with a very sharp 'nose,' that would have the function to control the front airflow in order to redistribute it over the central part and over the wings," he said.

In 2018, Oscar also designed the Magnavem superplane that promises to cut the flight time from London to New York in half.

The aircraft - named "Magnavem" meaning "big bird" by its creator - would receive its power from a compact fusion reactor, using a process similar to the one that keeps the sun burning.

It would also feature a CO2 cleaning system to add to its environmental friendliness.

And due to its advanced internal technology, it could be charged very quickly at its destination.
