And the Xbox controller, which uses AA batteries, is supposed to last for up to 40 hours.

Of course, with time the devices can wear making the power hold even less.

And you could just hook the cable up to the main machine if you're lucky enough to be close to the console - though this can be a nuisance too.

However, a Reddit gamer has shared their hack to get around this problem.

And all it takes is using a power bank that you would normally use for a smartphone.

"So, I initially bought a pre-owned series S because of budget issues and ps5 virtually being out of my range," user ProgrammerAccurate88 wrote.

"Xbox S has completed my dream of owning a console and playing AAA titles.

";However, battery has always been an issue with me so I came up with my own fix (jugaad as we call it in india) used my power bank to power the contoller making it portable while retaining the wireless feel.

"I know some people will call this cheap but litreally this powerbank backup lasts more than 10-15 days.

"I dont have to change batteries regularly neither do I have to hustle with charging my device. It's smooth sailing experience."

Top tips to save controller battery

There are some ways to help save your controller's battery

  • Turn down speaker volume on the PS5 controller
  • Lower the intensity of the vibration feature
  • Lower or turn off trigger effects
  • Reduce controller brightness
  • Mute the controller's onboard microphone

But others suggested players should go for rechargeable batteries instead.

"If you’re using stuff that you already had then you did a good job but I would consider getting some rechargeables," a gamer responded.
