Fifa 17 gamers are ‘exploiting Ryan Mason’s horror head injury by increasing his cost on Ultimate Team’
Users can buy players using virtual coins and some are making a big profit by charging more for Hull midfielder
FIFA users are reportedly trying to cash in on Ryan Mason's horrifying head injury by selling the player for more than ten times his original value on Ultimate Team.
The Daily Star claim that gamers could buy the Hull midfielder for around 500 coins before his clash with Gary Cahill yesterday.
But now they say that former Spurs star Mason is being flogged for as much as 6,000 coins.
Mason has undergone surgery and is in a stable condition after he suffered a fractured skull when caught by the Chelsea defender.
Messages of support have since flooded in from the world of football, including former Spurs pal Gareth Bale.
The coins do not have any cash equivalent but are an in-game currency accrued through achieving goals and objectives.
Other gamers spoke out about what they saw as a sick attempt to cash in on the footballer's condition.
One wrote: "Goes to show how greedy people are on FUT trying to make profit on Ryan Mason's card wtf."
Another said: "FUT community is sick as f***. Price fixing Ryan Mason!"
A fellow Fifa player said: "How terrible of a person do you have to be to try to make profit off of Ryan Mason right now?"
Another posted: "Think it's pathetic how people are trying to make coins from the Ryan Mason injury!"
One user said: "People trying to use Ryan Mason's injury to make coins on FIFA. As unsurprising as it is pathetic, the state of the community."
