Samsung owners receive free phone upgrade in days with major camera boost and top AI features – see full list
MORE Samsung owners will soon gain access to a raft of new camera and features that utilise artificial intelligence (AI).
The Korean phone company vowed it would roll out these sparkly new features to older handsets - and is finally making good on that promise.
It means phones that hit shelves over a year ago will get much of the same features as the latest Galaxy S24 handsets, which launched in January.
It's unclear the exact date these devices will be able to install One UI 6.1 - but it will definitely be before the beginning of April.
Camera boost and AI upgrades
Samsung has injected its camera and photos app with a massive dose of AI.

Gauss is the name of a Samsung-exclusive AI that consists of three tools: Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code and Samsung Gauss Image.
But one addition with Gauss Image is the ability to magically expand your photo beyond what was taken.
Other cool tools include the ability to remove unwanted objects - or people - as well as move or enlarge them.
One UI 6.1 also includes the AI Live Translate Call feature, a new functionality that lets users get live translation for calls in multiple languages.
It'll also summaries your messages and emails for you, which could be especially handy for friends that like to send essay texts.
The Sun saw first hand how it can change the tone of a text or communication for you - so you can write a rough few lines and it'll make suggests of a more formal tone, a conversational tone, or a polite tone for example.
Among all the AI excitement coming to Samsung's phones are AI wallpapers.
If you're wondering what that means, well, essentially you can tell your phone exactly what you want the wallpaper to look like and it'll create it for you.
It uses a generative AI model that can generate high quality text, images - and in this case, wallpapers, at the drop of a hat.
It's possible that older handsets won't get all the same AI features as the Galaxy S24 lineup - but it's certainly better than none.
