Instagram down updates — Thousands of users left furious as Meta suffers major outage including Facebook
THOUSANDS of users are experiencing issues with Meta platforms globally.
Over 2,000 people reported issues with Instagram in the UK alone this morning, according to Downdetector.
Thousands more issued complaints as Meta's other platforms were hit with outages.

Users of the popular app are continuing to report outages.
As the from today shows, below, there have been several spikes in reported problems throughout the day.
What to do if Instagram is down
The best thing to do is relaunch the app.
Force quit Instagram by sliding up and then dismissing the app so it closes entirely.
See if it then reloads.
It could also be a problem with your connection, so see if something else like a web page loads for you – if that doesn’t load, it’s an issue with your internet.

Instagram and Facebook down for SECOND time in a week
Instagram and Facebook have gone down for the second time in a week, leaving thousands of users shut out of their accounts.
The social media apps, operated by Meta, last went down for nearly three hours last Tuesday.
More than 2,000 people in the UK reported issues today, according to Downdetector.

There, you’ll find various options available in the panel on the left of the page.
Select “Known Issues.”
Any problems that Instagram may be encountered should be displayed there.
Can you use Instagram without an account?
No – due to an Instagram update in 2020, you can no longer browse Instagram without having signed up to the platform.
If you try to view profiles, posts, or Stories, you will be automatically sent to a log-in page when you try to view Instagram profiles, posts and stories.
Other ways to refresh your feed
Instagrammers can also clear the Instagram cache from Storage settings by finding Instagram on list of apps in Settings and pressing “Clear Cache.”
The error also may have appeared because IG thinks you are a bot. To prove you are real, you can link your account:
- Click on three lines at the top right corner of your profile page on Instagram
- Open “Settings” and select “Account”
- Click “Sharing to other apps” and then press “Facebook”
- Sign in with Facebook login details.
