According to a report by , the group known as The Mogelivich gang, is relatively new to the ransomware scene.

The group claims to have stolen “email, passwords, full name, payment information, source code and many other data”.

Overnight the group claims to have carried out an attack on the Epic Games servers.

Unlike other ransomware attacks that have taken place in the industry, Mogelivich has not provided evidence that the hack has taken place.

Epic Games has responded to the notice stating: "We are investigating but there is currently zero evidence that these claims are legitimate.

"Mogilievich has not contacted Epic or provided any proof of the veracity of these allegations.

"When we saw these allegations, which were a screenshot of a darkweb webpage in a Tweet from a third party, we began investigating within minutes and reached out to Mogilevich for proof.

"Mogilevich has not responded. The closest thing we have seen to a response is , where they allegedly ask for $15k and “proof of funds” to hand over the purported data."

Mogelivich is offering to sell the data, though it doesn’t state a price and says they’re willing to sell to anyone who puts up the money.

The post reads: “If you are an employee of the company or someone who would like to buy the data, click on me.”

Mogelivich claims that buyers only have until Monday, March 4, 2024, to make their offers before it is rescinded.

If their claims are true, then players of Fortnite, and those who use the Epic Games Store could be at risk.

The group claims to have personal and financial information which would likely include that of users.

There is no need to worry just yet, as it has not yet been proven that the hack has even taken place.
