These points are part of a system called My Nintendo Rewards, and fans have revealed how much they like them in a Reddit thread.

One : "Nintendo Gold Points, the only thing their shop does right. This is just a small post, but I don't ever see it brought up, but I'm sitting on $9 worth of Gold Points.

"I can buy a $9 game with just the points I've collected buying other games."

They added: "There's been a few times over the last six years where I've realized I saved up a ton and got a game for much cheaper."

"Or through other means determined by Nintendo, such as by participating in certain promotions, tournaments and/or other activities.
