Thankfully, there are actions you can take to speed it up, according to users on Reddit.

One user specifically that you can make your Android phone faster by doubling the animation speed in settings.

Changing the animation speed of your phone allows settings to move faster when you interact with them.

"A swipe to go home will move the window quicker while swiping between apps will switch swiftly," experts from noted.

However, you can't just go into your settings to change this feature, you need to go into Android's hidden developer mode.

HOW TO DO THIS

To enable developer mode, you need to head to Settings > About phone.

From here, scroll down and tap on “Build number” seven times – you might need to authenticate yourself.

Now that you are in developer mode, you can alter your device's animation speed.

Head to Settings, tap on System, and scroll down to Developer options.

Once here tap on Drawing and you’ll see three Animation scale options: Window, Transition, and Animator duration.

For each of these options, change the setting from 1x to .5x, since the smaller the number, the faster the animation.

Reddit users who own Androids said the trick made a difference, and called it "awesome."

Changing animation speeds are not the only way you can enhance your device's performance.

You can also clean up large amounts of data that keep your device bogged down.
