Sky reveals ‘magic codes’ to unlock hidden features you didn’t know were there – and first fixes ‘paralysis’ problem
YOUR Sky TV remote has a clever trick that will let you use features missed by millions.
They solve some of the biggest problems you encounter while watching the telly.
It works using the Sky remote's voice control feature.
You press and hold the voice button on the remote and then speak clearly into the microphone (below the Sky button) – then release once you're finished talking.
There are plenty of features that you can access using voice control to instantly upgrade your TV experience.
One of the best voice tricks solves the "paralysis of choice" problem, where there's so much TV to watch that you just can't make a decision.

Just speak into your voice remote and say "What should I watch?"
That will trigger Sky to launch a panel that shows you custom options for what you should be viewing – from across a host of apps.
"You'll find personalised TV recommendations based on what you've watched as well as popular shows from Sky, Netflix and Prime Video," Sky explains.

You can also search for content in loads of ways: don't limit yourself to just requesting a specific movie title or TV show name.

For instance, you can voice-search for an actor or even a director.
You can also ask for movie genres, or even movies with a specific star-rating.
Another option is to search for content in a certain picture format – for instance, you can ask for Ultra HD movies.
You can also quickly navigate to your Recordings, the main menu, Catch Up TV, or Sky Cinema all with simple voice commands.
Moving inside a TV programme or movie is also easier.
For instance, you can say "jump to 33 minutes" or "watch from start".
Voice commands can launch apps like Netflix, YouTube and Spotify.
And you can even ask questions like "what's the weather?", or say "latest news" to hear the headlines.
