LOCKED OUT

PlayStation owners fuming as a huge number of players lose their gaming libraries

No one can figure out why people's games are going missing.

PLAYSTATION officially announced that it would be removing paid content from people’s gaming libraries.

However, unlike the removal of Discovery TV Shows from PlayStation, this seems completely unplanned.

PlayStation owners are finding out that they have lost access to their games.

PlayStation owners are writing on Twitter, Reddit, and forums like ResetEra, all complaining of the same issue.

A huge number of people have received emails that state: “This account is permanently suspended from PlayStation Network due to violations of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement.”

Permanent suspensions mean that the players can never access their PlayStation accounts again.

This means that they will lose access to all of the digital games that they have previously purchased for their PlayStation consoles.

As the email states, these permanent suspensions are not handed out lightly and are given for things such as hacking, piracy, chargebacks, and hate speech.

Some have contacted PlayStation about the suspensions, believing that they haven’t breached the terms of service.

However, the common response is that these suspensions are permanent, and there is no way to appeal them.

The people at the PlayStation help desk are not allowed to share why the account was banned, and they are also not authorised to reverse permanent bans.

PlayStation has not publicly acknowledged the issue though it seems to be widespread judging by the number of posts about the issue on social media.

This means there is no clear sign as to when this issue will be resolved.

It should be noted that the issue has not affected every account, but it seems that it isn’t just an isolated incident.

There is no workaround for this issue, but we are hoping that PlayStation will soon update players with a solution.
