Xbox fans are thrilled as hugely popular free game feature could be coming to a new platform

Bigger service means more games for players.

XBOX is well known as the home for budget gamers, with the cheapest current-gen console on the market.

Fans can pick up an Xbox Series S for as little as £180 new, and grab a massive library of games for less than £10.

Xbox Game Pass is the console’s most popular feature, allowing people to play hundreds of games for a low cost every month.

It seems that Xbox Game Pass could be coming to even more platforms thanks to comments from Xbox CEO Phil Spencer.

When Microsoft put in a bid to purchase one of the world’s biggest publishers, Activision Blizzard, for $69billion, it stated that the main reason was to acquire King.

King is known for owning a number of popular mobile games, including the massively popular Candy Crush games.

More in Xbox

As reported by , Spencer confirmed the company’s dedication to mobile gaming going forward.

At CCXP in São Paulo, Spencer said of mobile gaming: “It’s an important part of our strategy and something we are actively working on today.

“Not only alone, but talking to other partners who’d also like to see more choice for how they can monetize on the phone.”

Before the purchase of Activision Blizzard, Xbox did not have a strong mobile presence, something the company said it needed to rectify.

Purchasing King was the start of that journey, but Xbox hopes to expand this even further and perhaps even broaden Game Pass.

Spencer continued: “We’ve talked about choice, and today on your mobile phones, you don’t have choice.

“To make sure that Xbox is not only relevant today but for the next 10, 20 years, we’re going to have to be strong across many screens.”

Many streaming services include mobile games, most notably Netflix has almost 100 games as part of its standard subscription.
