How the dangerous rise of ‘perfect’ AI girlfriends is ruining entire generation of men – and making singles more lonely
THE rise of "perfect" AI girlfriends is ruining an entire generation of men, an expert has warned.
Virtual girlfriends fuelled by AI are making single men lonelier than ever - and could pose significant risks to real human relationships.
AI girlfriends are increasingly getting better at mimicking real human behaviour - and interactions - as they continue to capture the minds of single men.
Speaking to The Sun, data science professor Liberty Vittert said these virtual girlfriends are blurring the lines between real and virtual companionship.
"AI girlfriends are becoming more like physical beings - they are almost indiscernible from a real human," she said.
"They look like real people and are shockingly good when it comes to replicating human interactions.

"Physical AI robots that can satisfy humans emotionally and sexually will become a stark reality in less than 10 years."
Artificial girlfriends operate through sophisticated algorithms and AI technologies designed to simulate human interaction and companionship.
These systems allows virtual chatbots to offer realistic and context-aware conversations - and can even gauge the emotional tone of the conversation.
Through machine learning, AI girlfriends can continuously improve their ability to understand what their users want, adapt to individual personalities, and refine their conversational skills.

On the top of it, developers design a virtual persona for the artificial girlfriend - with a personality, interests, and preferences.
This persona is integrated into the AI systems to provide an authentic and tailored experience.
"AI girlfriend is not just a virtual partner," Liberty said.
"By definition, artificial intelligence feeds and learns on the data it receives.
"It learns what you like, what you don't like, and articulates its responses accordingly."
Today, AI girlfriends offered by apps such as Replika and Eva AI are completely customisable according to the users' needs.
Users can tailor their personal bots, adjusting everything from the colour of her hair to the length of her legs.
And for single men looking for solace in these artificial relationships, AI girlfriends eventually end up becoming the "perfect partner".
But Liberty warned this is a "dangerous" path.

"The AI girlfriend is never tired, grumpy or has a bad day, she just gives the users what they need to hear unconditionally," she said.
"It's always this perfect relationship for lonely single men, which is very dangerous because it further isolates them from real human connections."
Users eventually get so attached to their "perfect" girlfriends who offer ideal conversations, it often becomes extremely hard for them to transition back to the real world.
And this is making men more detached from real life relationships, Liberty said.
It's becoming a huge problem for countries such as the US and Japan, where the birth rate is declining sharply because of lack of human relationships.
Men with real partners are increasingly getting involved in virtual relationships.
"Not a lot of men are going to end up staying with their partners who have this wonderful relationship with their AI girlfriends," Liberty said.

"As the technology gets better, people will soon have AI robots to replace human partners - and they will be able to satisfy men both emotionally and sexually.
"And when that starts to happen, married men with kids will begin to leave their families to embrace their 'ideal relationships' with AI girlfriends."
