TO TASK

Popular panel show Taskmaster transformed by making you a contestant in new VR-game

Those who like being humiliated will have the perfect game.

TASKMASTER is one of the UK’s favourite shows, putting celebrities through embarrassing tasks all in the name of comedy.

While we all love seeing the contestants getting cut down by Greg Davies’ sharp wit, we’ve also wondered how we would perform ourselves.

Soon we’ll all have the chance to try it out, as TaskMaster is being turned into a VR game.

Developed in partnership with the show, Alex Horne and Greg Davies have lent their voices and likenesses to the roles.

Just like the real TV show, they will be with you every step of the way, judging your every action.

You will play as a contestant on the show, and will be able to take part in the kooky tasks all in immersive first person.

More in Gaming

Collecting eggs in a bucket, smashing up watermelons, taking a bath, and making a sandwich are all the tasks already unveiled to be included in the game.

Head of games, Niall Taylor says: “The world of Taskmaster is perfect for VR.

“Combining the hilarity of the show with the freedom of virtual reality gives players an immersive (and slightly mad) experience”.

Alex Horne adds: “Genuinely, this is extraordinary, brilliant and very fun.

“Also, I've always wanted to be a contestant on Taskmaster so this is great for me as a VR user.

“Except that I will also have my virtual self watching my attempts and undermining my confidence so I may well regret the whole venture after I've had a go”.

VR players will be able to play Taskmaster VR on Meta Quest 2 or 3 sometime  in 2024.
