Google makes major change for millions of Brits with an important new alert no-one should ignore
GOOGLE has announced a major change to its search engine that affects all users across the UK.
The feature was already available in the US but now Brits will have access to it as well.
It should better protect personal information, privacy and online safety overall.
The tech giant is rolling out its Results About You tool across web and mobile.
Users can access a dashboard that lets them know if web results with their contact information are showing up on Google Search.
You can even turn on a popup to warn you if your details have been detected anywhere.

The service allows people to quickly request the search result is removed.
Though it's important to remember, it'll only disappear from Google's searches.
The website showing your details will still be live.
You'll have to contact the website owner yourself to try to get them to remove it entirely.

The update to Results About You is a big step up from when it rolled out in September 2022.
Before now, users had to find websites with their details exposed themselves and report it.
But with this latest update the service will find them and alert you automatically.
