Secret iPhone setting slashes your battery life but there’s a ‘hidden’ button to turn it off

A MOBILE phone expert has revealed the secret iPhone setting which can slash your battery life but there is a “hidden” button that switches it off.

The CNET page on TikTok showed it's 329,000 followers just how it was done.

The expert starts off the short clip by saying: “If your iPhone battery is dying annoyingly fast, you need to change this this setting in your settings app.”

Just go to general in settings, then background app refresh, then background app refresh again and then make sure its toggled off.

However, the expert did add: “Although it may not drain your battery as much as screen brightness or cellular connection, it’ll still help preserve it.”

The short clip has become something of a big hit on the site, picking up some 110,000 likes along with 428 comments.

While many followers were thankful for the advice and tagged in their friends others chipped in with their own advice.

One wrote: "Also, if you have the 14 pro/pro max, turn off the always on display."

Another said: "You're always on it, no wonder it dies."

While others suggested she change to an android model.

It is usually recommended that users get their batteries replaced when the maximum battery capacity hits 80 per cent.

You can check the health of your battery at any time by going into Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
