From the latest Assassin’s Creed to a new Pokémon game – everything to pick up in October
SEPTEMBER has already brought us a number of huge games to see us through the year.
While Starfield and EA FC 24 could see you gamed out until the end of the year, October has even more huge releases in store.
Pokémon, Mario, Sonic, and Assassin’s Creed all have entries this month, making it a month of heavy hitters.
Here are all the biggest games that are coming out this October.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Three years since the last release, Assassin’s Creed Mirage brings fans a new game in the hugely popular series.
Basim is back in an adventure set in 9th-century Baghdad, which is supposed to be smaller than previous entry Valhalla.
More in Gaming Releases
All the classic pieces of Assassin’s Creed are returning like stealth, parkour, and numerous collectibles and side missions.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will launch on October 5 for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Detective Pikachu Returns
Fans have been waiting a lot longer for a new Detective Pikachu game, as the original released back in 2016.
You play as both Detective Pikachu and his partner Tim Goodman as you solve the issues of people and Pokémon in your city.

This time other Pokémon can help out with their unique powers to make your way through each case.
Detective Pikachu Returns is coming on October 6 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
Forza Motorsport
While 2021 gave us the wildly popular Forza Horizon 5, Forza Motorsport is back to the pure joy of racing.
Motorsport keeps a closer eye on the performance and handling of each car rather than a bombastic open world.
With a huge number of tracks to race around it’s a must-buy for racing fans.
Forza Motorsport will launch on October 10 for Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Sonic Superstars
Sonic Superstars brings the look of 3D Sonic games to the classic 2D Sonic platformer formula.
With the ability to play with three others in co-op, you can use the main cast of Sonic characters to rush through levels.
Stages take inspiration from Sonic’s history as well as completely new ideas to offer something for long-term fans and newbies alike.
Sonic Superstars will be released on October 17 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Talking about taking games back to their classic 2D formulas, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a return to 2D Mario games.
This also allows local co-op play, with brand new powers for each person to play with.
In a year of great Switch exclusives, Wonder hopes that you will still consider it for Game of the Year.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder releases on October 20 exclusively for Switch.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
We’ve seen a lot in new trailers for Spider-Man 2, and the gameplay is looking smoother and more beautiful than ever.
While it won’t have co-op, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are playable for the first time.
Kraven has been announced as a new antagonist, and popular villain Venom will be making a return.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch on October 20 exclusively for PS5.
Alan Wake 2
A long time since the original game was released, Alan Wake finally has a sequel.
Alan Wake is still in the Dark Place, and he has to rewrite his story if he has any hope of escape.
Players will split their time between FBI agent Saga Anderson and Wake to get to the heart of the mystery.
