Sky customers are just realising they can access a HIDDEN remote upgrade for the TV – but there’s a catch
SKY has revealed a hidden remote for TV customers - so you can always have a back-up if you lose the original one in your sofa.
The new feature has just finished being rolled out to customers, and grants viewers a virtual telly remote from their iPhone.
Customers can open up the virtual Sky remote from inside the Sky Go app, letting customers control their telly just like with their 'proper' remote.
The virtual remote is laid out similarly to the physical remote.
But customers who have large text sizes enabled on their device will see a larger button view.
Sky said the feature is "great for customers that have had a faulty remote" and are unable to use their Sky box while awaiting a replacement.

But there's a catch - it is currently only available for Sky Q customers with iPhones.
However, this is just for "the moment", according to a spokesperson on the Sky Help Team on Twitter.
It has been suggested that the feature will someday be available to Sky Glass and Stream viewers.
Sky has also said that customers with Android devices will have access to the feature later this year.

To access the virtual remote, just follow these steps:
- Settings on Sky Go
- Look for Devices and you will see Sky Q remote
- Simply select what box you wish to control
If you can't find it inside your Sky Go app, you might need to update the app to the latest version.
If you've updated the app and still can't see it, then it's possible it is not compatible with your smartphone device.
The feature is only available to customers using an Apple device with iOS 13 or above.
