MARIO fans were stunned at the latest Nintendo Direct when seven new games were announced for the series.
Whichever style of Mario game you are into, there was definitely one announced at the showcase that you will enjoy.
In the announcements, new games for Wario, Peach, Luigi, and of course Mario were revealed.
Here’s everything you need to know about the seven new Mario games coming to Nintendo Switch.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: The Last Spark Hunter DLC
The second DLC pack for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope was announced called The Last Spark Hunter.

There is a new antagonist Kanya, the last Spark Hunter, and her Mecha King Bob-Omb who you will face in boss battles.
The new DLC is available now, for those who own the base game.

The new wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC will be released mid-2023 for Expansion Pass subscribers.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder
The biggest surprise of the Direct is that there is a new 2D Mario game coming out this year.
You’ll be able to play as different characters from the series, including Daisy for the first time.
There are also new transformations for Mario, including an elephant transformation that we saw.
It’s coming sooner than people were expecting and will be released on October 2, 2023.
WarioWare: Move It
A new entry to the WarioWare series is coming later this year called WarioWare: Move It.
It will feature over 200 new microgames, with cameos of characters from other Nintendo series.
Each game will use the JoyCon so that players will have to stand up and move in order to perform each action.
We don’t have long to wait as WarioWare: Move It comes to Switch on November 3, 2023.
Super Mario RPG remake
A remake of the SNES classic game Super Mario RPG is coming this year.
This is a ground-up remake of the game that started the popular Paper Mario series.
One thing fans noticed was that Yoshi wasn’t present on the new cover, leaving questions over whether they are included in the game.
Players can get their hands on Super Mario RPG on November 17, 2023.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon remake
Originally released on the 3DS, the second Luigi’s Mansion game will soon be available on the Switch.
Currently only Luigi’s Mansion 3 is available on Switch, though the original was ported to 3DS in 2018.
No firm release date yet, but we know it will be coming sometime in 2024.
New Princess Peach game
The last time Princess Peach had her own game was back in 2005.
Released for the DS, Super Princess Peach was a lacklustre entry to the Mario series, leaving fans disappointed.
