Apple is putting the final touches on its latest iOS update ahead of release in September.

And early testers have noticed a new button for anyone who's recently changed their passcode.

The firm will now allow you to enter your old passcode for a limited amount of time.

You'll get 72 hours to use your previous passcode, reports .

That way you can create a new one (again).

The alert reads: "This iPhone is in security lockout.

"You can regain access using your old passcode with Passcode Reset."

It appears Apple has thought of people who are certain they don't need their passcode and want to purge it completely.

After all, what if a thief knows your old passcode and gets hold of your iPhone?

Apparently, in the Settings you can clear it by going to Face ID & Passcode, followed by Expire Previous Passcode Now.

iOS 17 is set to have a load of new features and improvements.

Among them is brand new customisable contact posters so you can decide how you appear when you call someone.

There's also Live Voicemail, which allows you to see live transcriptions of voicemails that are being recorded.
