Max Verstappen on top after EA reveals surprising F1 23 rankings
EA SPORTS has revealed its driver ratings for F1 23, the upcoming formula one racing game featuring stars like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso.
Driver ratings in F1 23 aren’t typically taken quite as seriously by fans and athletes as ratings in games like FIFA and Madden, but they’re still a hot topic of discussion at times.
According to EA Sports, a driver’s My Team F1 23 rating depends on four different categories: experience, racecraft, pace, and awareness.
These rankings aren’t an exact science, as they’re mostly just a bit of fun, but here’s what EA says each category means:
- Experience (EXP): This is based on the number of race starts a driver has over the course of their career
- Racecraft (RAC): The driver’s ability to work their way through the pack and finish in a higher position than where they started
- Awareness (AWA): The less time spent in the Steward’s room will help drivers here. Real-world punishments will impact the score in this category
- Pace (PAC): Benefits those who get closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver beating their teammate is also taken into consideration
The overall rating is a combination of the other four ratings, and EA says it will go up and down throughout the season, depending on how the racers perform.
