Disney+ subscribers warned service will be BLOCKED on thousands of TV sets next month – check yours now

DISNEY+ fans have been warned they may lose access to the streaming service as a popular set-top box is planning to pull the plug next month.

Anyone with an older NOW TV streaming device will longer be able to use the app after May 30.

Sky - which owns NOW - stopped selling the boxes and TV sticks in 2021 but most continued to work.

The move is apparently down to Roku, who make the kit.

An alert on affected sets says: "Disney+ will no longer be available on this Roku model after May 30 2023.

"To continue using the Disney+ app, along with all of its newest features and functionalities, please upgrade your device to a newer model."

As reports, there is still some confusion about which models are impacted.

The NOW Smart Stick is safe.

But the original NOW TV Smart Box 4K is expected to lose support.

The fate of the NOW TV 2016 Box (4200SK) and NOW TV (4500SK) Black Box is unclear for the moment.

If you're unsure, the best way to find out is by loading the Disney+ app on your device to see if the warning message appears.

Fortunately there are some affordable replacement options available if you need one.

Smart TV owners should check whether it has the Disney+ app available as you can continue watching that way at no extra expense.
