How do I clear cache on my Samsung phone?

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Battery device care. (This will be under the option Device care if you have an older device).
  3. Click Optimise now. (This will be under the option Fix now if you have an older device).
  4. Once it's complete, tap Done.

What happens when you clear cache?

There are three types of cache: app cache, browser cache and system cache.

When you use a browser, like Google Chrome, it saves some information from websites in its cache, such as like fonts and images, to help them open faster during your next visit.

Although some apps monitor cached data themselves, like Spotify, which helps the platform load quicker.

When you delete your cache, some of your settings on sites and apps will be deleted.

For example, if you were signed in, you’ll need to sign in again.

Some app and sites can also seem slower the first time you open them after clearing your cache, because content needs to load again.

Is it good to clear cache on Android?

Cache can bloat any device, including Android.

According to cybersecurity company Avast, clearing your cache can "reverse the curse" when it comes to a sluggish performance or a lack of storage.

But it's no silver bullet.

Cache is not the root cause for all performance and storage woes, but it's certainly a good option to try if your phone has been acting slower than usual.
