THE Pokémon Company has announced that Pikachu will be the next target of seven-star raids in Scarlet and Violet.

Unlike other seven-star Tera raids, this special one will only be available for a weekend.

Much like the Flying Pikachu that were given away for early adopters, the new raid will feature the special Surfing Pikachu.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Pikachu Tera raid in Scarlet and Violet.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Surfing Pikachu Tera raid

The Surfing Pikachu Tera raid is a seven-star raid that will take place from Friday, February 24, 2023, until Monday, February 27, 2023.

While a Pikachu might seem an easy target, this one is EV trained, and starts off with the barrier at the beginning.

While a Pikachu might seem an easy target, this one is EV trained, and starts off with the barrier at the beginning.

This means getting your tera in early is important, or you’ll be doing a tiny amount of your usual damage.

Pika also uses Rain Dance to make its Thunders accurate, which can be very scary indeed.

The Mightiest Pikachu - Level 100

  • Potential nature - Bold
  • Ability - Lightning Rod
  • Item - Light Ball
  • Tera type - Water
  • Moves - Surf, Play Rough, Iron Tail, Thunder, Rain Dance

Pikachu is very weak defensively, but it makes up for this with speed, and with Light Ball it can pack a strong punch.

It goes for all out attacks, so you’ll want to make sure you have the defense to deal with it.

Playing around Paralysis will be the most important part of this, as you will need to make sure you can put as many hits in as possible.

Gastrodon

If you have Gastrodon from the Greninja raid, it might also be a great fit for the Pikachu raid too.

Storm Drain will absorb surf and raise Gastrodon’s special attack for some powerful Earth Powers.

As the barrier if up you need to focus on moves that support you.

Gastrodon - Level 100

  • Nature - Bold HP and Special Defense invested
  • Ability - Storm Drain
  • Item - Covert Cloak
  • Tera type - Ground
  • Potential moves - Earth Power, Recover, Amnesia, Acid Armor

Breloom

Breloom resists almost all of Pikachu’s attacks, and can be immune to Paralysis by holding a Toxic Orb.

The Toxic Orb will also provide Breloom with consistent healing to help out against attacks.

Grassy Terrain, and Swords Dance will further help boost your attack.

Sunny Day also has the double benefit of lowering Thunder’s accuracy, and weakening Surf’s power.

Breloom - Level 100

  • Nature - Careful and Special Defense invested
  • Ability - Poison Heal
  • Item - Toxic Orb
  • Tera type - Grass
  • Potential moves - Seed Bomb, Swords Dance, Sunny Day, Grassy Terrain

Arboliva

As a Grass-type Arboliva can take Pikachu’s hits, and its huge Special Attack will deal big damage.

Like Breloom, Arboliva can also change the weather, reducing Thunder’s accuracy to 50%.

It may not be fast, but that doesn’t matter so much in tera-raids.
