The three ways you can instantly cut your bills for Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime

STREAMING subscriptions keep increasing – and more recently users have had to pay extra for the privilege of no ads.

Amazon Prime was the latest firm to introduce ads, charging £2.99 extra if you want to avoid them.

And in November, Disney+ introduced price changes too.

Here are ways you can save money on the top three streaming platforms.

Disney+

Disney+ now has three subscription tiers, starting from £4.99 with ads.

What was previously the main subscription plan at £7.99 now only supports 1080p video quality and two screens in the same household at once.

And a newer Premium tier is £10.99 for four screens and 4K video quality.

The first obvious way you could save money is by considering downgrading to the £4.99 plan if you don’t mind ads – though you also lose the ability to download shows offline.

Another way you can cut the cost is by using Tesco Clubcard to pay for it instead, if you have enough points of course.

£12 worth of Clubcard vouchers gets you three months of Disney+.

A third solution is to subscribe through Priority if you’re an O2 customer.

Having it billed through Virgin Media O2 knocks £2 off a month.

It’s also worth keeping an eye out for £1.99 per month offers that Disney+ occasionally runs throughout the year.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video changed its pricing structure earlier this year.

Now you have to pay an extra £2.99 fee to avoid the new ads.

If you’re on O2, you can link your Prime and O2 account, and £2 will be deducted from your phone bill.

There is also a little-known Prime subscription for those who aren’t fussed about the Amazon delivery perks – find out about it here.

Netflix

Netflix has made several price increases in the past and is dabbling with some new tiers.

It also quietly axed the cheapest ad-free plan you could get earlier this year.

You can get Netflix slightly cheaper if you add it to your Sky or Virgin Media account if you’re an existing customer.

Otherwise, you could try the cheapest plan currently available which is £4.99 with ads.

Of course, it has a number of limitations on top of ads, but it could save you a fair bit.
