People are just realizing huge Google logo ‘mistake’ – only hawk-eyed people will spot it
GOOGLE has billions of users but a lot of them probably haven't noticed that the tech giant's logo has a hidden "mistake."
You'll need the eyes of a hawk to spot the imperfection on Google's website, as the white background tricks your brain into not seeing it.
It turns out that the G in Google's logo is not a perfect circle even though it looks like one.
According to , several designers spotted that there was something not quite right with the logo.
The outlet claims the G is imperfect and described the technique as "Overshooting."
That's a technique used in typography, which is the art of making text look appealing.
Overshooting is said to make something look perfect to the human eye even though it's mathematically wrong.
Medium states: "When it comes to the ‘G’ in Google logo and the reason why it’s actually circular at the left and not so much on the right is because of optical stabilisation or optical balancing."
It's thought Google's mostly white website plays a role in requiring the G to be slightly imperfect.
This is because the human eye can see shapes differently based on what color background they're on.
The multi-colors in the logo could also be to blame.
This is because companies like to consider color composition in their logos to make them seem more appealing.
Medium says the colors and shape are "well thought out and it makes the logo soothing to look at without compromising on the brand colors."
