Is Outlook down? Outages explained
MICROSOFT is investigating another issue affecting Outlook users mostly in the United States as of June 5, 2023.
The popular email service was hit by an outage around 10.30am EST.
Is Outlook down?
Microsoft has issued a statement on the problem : “We’re investigating an issue with accessing Outlook on the web. Further details can be found under EX571516 in the admin center.”
Users of the program are saying they are having issues opening emails on the website and the app. When trying to access the site, people are seeing “Service Unavailable” and it is followed by the error code: “HTTP Error 503.”
This is not the first time this year Outlook has experienced issues.
On January 25, 2023, users experienced a wider outage that affected Outlook as well as Teams and OneDrive. The following month, on February 7, Microsoft Outlook users were hit once again with an outage.
Why is Outlook down?
Microsoft on its Twitter page the morning of June 5, identifying “downstream impact for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.”
Microsoft has they are “reviewing their networking systems and recent updates in an effort to identify the underlying root cause of the issue.”
The issue is still ongoing as Microsoft is still looking into the problem.
Who is affected by the Outlook outage?
It seems most affected users are in North America.
Users on are reporting which states are experiencing the issues.
Damaris Cancel stated: “Email down in NYC 10001.”
Katie Little commented: “down in Orlando, FL.”
