Sky rolls out huge free TV update including a new way to find your lost remote and better picture quality

SKY is introducing some huge new features to its TV products that will be available as part of a free update.

The broadcasting giant has made several big changes to Sky Glass, its dish-less internet-based service built into TVs.

People constantly losing the remote will be pleased to know a special trick to find it is included in the haul of goodies.

From next month, you'll be able to say, "Hello Sky, where’s my remote" to your Sky Glass and the remote will start beeping.

Anyone with Sky Q will be familiar with this hack already.

But beyond that, you may notice better picture quality when chilling out on the sofa too.

Higher contrast, brightness and colour accuracy are coming to all Sky Glass TVs.

It's thanks to updates that the newly titled Aurora Display is rolling out now, and should be with all customers by the end of the week.

Sky says the change will enhance the existing Vivid Mode from the Options menu, giving a visually punchier picture with higher levels of contrast and colour saturation, for visuals that pop.

All Sky TV platforms will also see the new ITVX app land pretty soon.

ITVX replaces the buggy ITV Hub and promises to offer new and exclusive programmes every week of the year.

It officially launches on December 8 but has already started appearing on iOS, Android and desktop.

Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices have started receiving the update, with Sky Q set to follow in the coming weeks.
