Google is constantly working on improving its apps.

And two big changes that are currently under development have been revealed before release.

They were spotted by tech blog , and reveal seriously handy free upgrades that will come to millions of Android phones.

The first is called Android app archiving, and it'll help free up storage space on your phone.

It will let you archive apps that you don't use very often.

This deletes the app from your phone, freeing up potentially significant space.

But it's different from deleting an app because your personal data won't be scrubbed.

That means you can eventually hit Restore on an app, and it'll return with all of your personal info intact.

The Restore button will take the place of the Install button for an archived app.

You won't need to re-sign into your account when you restore the app, and it should look just as it did before you deleted it.

The second change is smaller but still handy.

Google is adding a download progress bubble that appears on your screen while you're getting an app.

So if you're browsing other apps on the store, you'll be able to easily see how your current download is doing.

It's unclear exactly when these two changes will roll out to everyone, but it's likely to be very soon.

Check back on your Play Store regularly for the latest updates.
