Every iPhone has a fake feature on the outside – do you know what it is?

One you may not realise is to do with the speaker grills along the bottom.

Some people assume they're both speakers.

But the reality is only one of them is a speaker.

Though they look pretty much the same, only one side has the speaker.

The other merely covers up the microphone and sensors.

The only other speaker you'll find on the entire phone is in the usual place, right up top where you usually listen to calls.

Apple has been doing this on the iPhone for years.

It's not entirely clear why, but some experts say it's merely a design choice to make it look somewhat symmetrical.
