NOT O-KAY!

O2 Priority app and website crashing as Peter Kay fans scramble for tickets with ‘highest demand for 15 years’

O2 Priority's website and app have crashed due to huge demand for Peter Kay show tickets.

The network said it's had "unprecedented demand" for the comedian's massive return after 12 years away.

The first batch of tickets were released on the app at 10am on Thursday but many were unable to load anything as the system buckled under pressure.

Virgin Media O2 said it is "by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years".

"Sorry, we’re working on it," the firm told desperate fans.

"Please be patient."

Peter, 49, is embarking on his first stand-up tour in 12 years and yesterday announced a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena, performing there every month for a year, starting next month.

"1hr and 20 mins later......still can't get Peter Kay tickets," one frustrated customer wrote on Twitter.

"Thanks O2 been trying for 2 hours to get Peter Kay tickets and can’t even log in to priority app or site still, nevermind get any tickets. Fuming," another said.

He'll be the first artist in the world to perform each month at The O2 in London.

The residency will run from December 16 until November 18 2023.

Peter famed for hit TV shows Car Share, Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy, has been largely absent from the public eye over the last four years.

His announcement over the weekend confirms The Sun's exclusive in May, which revealed the star would be returning with a huge tour at venues nationwide.

Bolton-born Kay, 49, will begin with two nights on December 2 and 3 at Manchester's AO Arena.

The O2 Priority app allows O2 and Virgin Media customers to get hold of tickets for special events early.

General sale tickets are due to be released on Saturday at 10am.

"We are seeing lots of Priority Tickets being sold for Peter Kay to O2 and Virgin Media customers right across the UK," Virgin Media O2 said.

"Apologies if you’ve not been successful yet but do keep trying.
