New iPhone update brings back beloved feature missing for YEARS – turn it on now

APPLE has finally listened to the pleas of iPhone fans and brought back the battery percentage.

For years, people been left to guess how much juice is left based on the battery icon illustration in the corner.

But not any longer, as the tech giant has decided to reinstate the popular feature.

The battery percentage was previously seen on devices released before 2017.

But Apple was forced to scrap it, apparently due to space issues at the time with the notch on the iPhone X.

Now, the notch is gone on the iPhone 14, and the firm has decided it's time to bring the digits back for good.

And thankfully, you don't have to own the very latest iPhone to get it.

Battery percentage is included on iOS 16, so if you've installed the free update you can switch it on.

But be warned - not all iPhones support it.

Apple says the iPhone XR, the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 mini, and the iPhone 13 mini will not display it.

How to add the battery percentage to iPhone

If you want to see the battery percentage on your iPhone, simply follow these steps.

First, make sure you have iOS 16 installed.

Once that's done, open the Settings.

Go to Battery.

Then switch on the Battery Percentage option.
