Ultimate iPhone travel hack EVERYONE going on holiday this year must know

IF you're going on holiday this year, there's an iPhone hack you need to know.

It's called Focus – and it could completely revolutionise your stay away.

Apple added the Focus mode in last year's iOS 15 update.

So you'll need to make sure you're running that in Settings > General > Software Update.

It's a simple way to keep distractions at bay – and is especially handy if work is constantly badgering you.

The feature is an extension of the Do Not Disturb function.

You can have different iPhone settings, including a work mode, and even a holiday feature.

So consider setting up a Focus named Holiday and then changing it to your liking.

You can block certain apps from triggering notifications on your phone.

And you can even shut out specific contacts (with an emergency override on their end if it's urgent).

That means you can shut out all work apps, colleagues and anything or anyone else that might distract you from vacation bliss.

To set it all up, go into Settings > Focus and then add a new Focus mode.

Choose all of the settings you want, including times and days for activation.

If you're on holiday, you might want to just leave it on for the whole time.

You can even share the Focus across devices, which is handy if you've got an iPad or MacBook with you on holiday.

Then you can quickly toggle your Focus on or off in the Control Centre.

On an iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

And on an iPhone with Face ID, swipe down from the top-right corner of the display.

The Focus button is a small moon icon – and it will present any Focus modes you've already got set up.

Et voila: peace and quiet.

One more thing

That's not the only iPhone travel hack worth knowing.

There's a way to quickly share and retrieve all of your flight information thanks to Apple.

Open up your iPhone Messages app and text someone your flight number or abbreviated flight code.

This will allow the recipient to tap the code and get a special flight preview.

You'll know if it worked because the text will automatically underline once you've sent it.

Anyone in the iMessage chat can view all of the information about the flight.

This includes departure and arrival times, as well as time remaining on the flight.

You'll also be able to see the destinations, any delays, and the terminal and gate.

The preview will show baggage claim numbers at the end of the trip.

And anyone in the chat will get a real-time map to track the flight.

Sadly, it's possible that some flights might not appear via the preview.

But many of the major carriers are supported with this feature.
