WhatsApp trick could save you from HUGE embarrassment – and it’s so simple
WHATSAPP could give you even more time to "unsend" a message very soon.
Deleting texts for everyone is seriously handy – but the grace period is short.
In fact you currently only get one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds to unsend a message.
Unsending means the text is deleting from a recipient's phone as well as your app.
It's a good way to boost privacy – or scrub an accidental or embarrassing text from history.
Now the sleuths at have dug into the beta and found evidence of a time extension for unsending texts.

According to the app investigators, the time limit could increase to two days and 12 hours.
This is reportedly active for some users trialling the WhatsApp beta.
Sadly WhatsApp hasn't confirmed exactly when this feature will land.
Given that it's still being developed, it could take weeks or even months to roll out.

Unsending messages on WhatsApp has been possible for a few years now.
Initially it was only possible to unsend texts for the first eight minutes.
But the time is creeping upwards – and could grow even further in the future.
Other apps – including Meta-owned Instagram – have no time limit for unsending messages.
