Secret Apple metaverse headset release date ‘revealed’ by insider as tech giant to rival Meta

THE timeline for Apple's virtual reality headset has been revealed by an industry insider with a proven record of accurate insights.

Apple's headset will be presented to the public before it's actually on the market, reports claim.

Mark Zuckerberg's Meta has slowed the production of virtual reality hardware, according to tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Meta has focused on fleshing out concepts like virtual currency and digital collectibles.

Other companies like Sony and Microsoft have begun developing headsets for metaverse exploration.

But Kuo predicts Apple will go public with their headset in January 2023 and fundamentally transform the industry.

"After Apple launches AR/MR headset, I think Apple’s global rivals will compete to imitate it, leading the headset hardware industry to the next stage of rapid growth," Kuo wrote in a post.

Kuo is reiterating the idea that Apple won't indulge in a fully immersive virtual reality experience and instead produce an augmented reality or mixed reality headset.

The theory is consistent with statements made by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The hype surrounding the metaverse has people and companies scrambling for fear of being left behind.

Apple was noticeably absent from the new coalition.

However, Kuo suggests, Apple has no reason to jump in head first.

"Apple is an industry leader with significant competitive advantages and doesn’t need to join the Metaverse Standards Forum now," he added in his Medium post.
