Apple has a secret iPhone setting that makes phone calls sound MUCH better – how to unlock it
IF you're fed up with poor quality phone calls Apple has a trick up its sleeve that will improve things drastically.
The special feature isn't the easiest thing to come by either.
It's called Voice Isolation and it works on any iPhone when doing a FaceTime chat with voice or video - as long as you're using iOS 15 or later.
The mystery setting can only be accessed when you're already in a call, not before, so be prepared to follow the steps the next time someone rings.
To switch it on, you have to swipe down from the upper-right corner of your screen.
Here you'll find the control centre.

Select Mic Mode.
Change Standard to Voice Isolation.
There is another option there too, called Wide Spectrum.
But this just lets the person on the other end of the phone hear more background noise, which probably has limited uses for things like a live concert.
Voice Isolation does the complete opposite.

It uses clever tech to remove the background noise and reduce things like echo, making it easier to hear you.
Better still, it can be found on iPad and Mac as well, and will even work when wearing AirPods.
The only problem is you'll have to go through the setup process with each call to switch it on - you can't have it turned on automatically.
