FIFA 22 ‘to be FREE for PS5 players in May’ – but there’s a catch

FIFA 22 could be coming to PS Plus as a freebie next month.

The smash-hit footie game is rumoured to be the headline title for May 2022.

PS Plus is a monthly subscription service for PS5 and PS4 players.

It gets you free games to play each month, plus a host of other benefits.

Now French gaming site claims to have revealed the free title line-up for April.

It reportedly includes Fifa 22, Tribes of Midgard, and Curse of the Dead Gods.

The website has been highly accurate when it comes to PS Plus leaks.

Sadly, it's impossible to say for sure whether this leak is accurate.

We won't find out for sure until the very end of April or the beginning of May, when we'd expect the new PS Plus roster to be announced.

And the other catch is that you need to be a PS Plus member to take advantage of the freebie.

Fifa 22 would be an enormous win for PS Plus subscribers.

And the two indie games along with it would only sweeten the deal.

New PS Plus system revealed

Whatever the case, it's all change for PS Plus players.

Sony is expected to completely change how the PS Plus system works later this year.

The service will be tweaked – as well as merged with game-streaming app PlayStation Now – on June 1 in the US and June 22 in Europe.

Sony says that there'll be more than 700 games on the platform, offering "more value than ever".

There will be three different PlayStation membership plans to choose from.

This includes PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium.
