If you want to access iMessage's secret effects, there are two methods you can employ.

The first method requires you to type a special keyword in your iMessage chatbox.

The second option is to tap and hold the blue send button after typing out a message.

Typing in 'Pew pew' can create a laser light show in your textbox.

Wishing someone a 'Happy birthday' will send the message with colorful balloons.

Sending a 'Congratulations' will display a pop of confetti.
