In his 2020 song, titled , the rapper, A Boogie Wit A Hoodie, whose real name is Julius Dubose, raps:

And if you say you trust me, girl, you lied

DTB is used on a lot of breakup videos, including people who think their exes have cheated or have wronged them in some way.

The song inspired hashtags like #DTB, #DTB4L, and #DTB4Life.

A Boogie wit da Hoodie has 4.66million subscribers on YouTube and 537.5k followers on TikTok.

British rapper Central Cee also quoted the phrase in his 2022 song One Up.

The song, which has previously been popular on TikTok for its 'DTB' referencing, says:

"Uh, they think they got one up on us,

D.T.B, I don't trust b*****s,

Out all my dargs, there's some I can trust,

Won't even lie, I got PTSD."

What does it mean to be 'DTB for life?'

This term is Gen Z's equivalent of saying they're swearing off dating forever after a relationship ends.

Whether it means "Don't Trust Boys" or "Don't Trust B******s" is up to the user.

But the phrase is also being used to fuel hustle culture on the app.
