GAMING platform Roblox site issues at the end of October 2021 caused major problems for millions of gamers.

Roblox came back online on Sunday - Halloween night - after experiencing a three day long outage.

When did Roblox come back online?

The popular site came back online on October 31, 2021, at 9pm EST.

They tweeted: "Roblox is back online everywhere! Thank you for your continued patience as we get back to normal."

The Roblox investigation team was made aware of the situation which was affecting millions of players around the world on Thursday, October 28.

The official Roblox account apologised for the delay in getting the site back up and running.

How did the Roblox team respond?

A Twitter message from an unofficial Roblox Status account said: "Looks like #Roblox is currently experiencing issues!

"We'll update you if we receive any further information. Services impacted: Games & Account Information."

 had also been reporting issues with the site.

A tweet from the official Roblox account said: "We know you’re having issues using Roblox right now.

"We’re sorry and working hard to get things back to normal.";

It later added: "Still making progress on today’s outage. We’ll continue to keep you updated.

"Once again, we apologize for the delay."

In an update on October 30, Roblox thanked the community for their patience saying: "We believe we have identified an underlying internal cause of the outage.

"We’re in the process of performing the necessary engineering and maintenance work to get Roblox back up and running ASAP. Thanks for your patience."

According to Downdetector, there were tens of thousands of Roblox outage reports.

These related to accessing the website, logging in and the server connection.

In an update on October 31, 2021, founder and CEO, David Baszucki, explained why the outage had taken so long to resolve.

He said: "A core system in our infrastructure became overwhelmed, prompted by a subtle bug in our backend service communications while under heavy load.

"This was not due to any peak in external traffic or any particular experience.

"Rather the failure was caused by the growth in the number of servers in our datacenters.

"The result was that most services at Roblox were unable to effectively communicate and deploy. "

He added that recovery took longer than expected due to the "difficulty in diagnosing the actual bug".

How can I check to see if Roblox is back up?

Gamers eager to start playing once again are best advised to keep an eye out on the .

They sent a tweet on October 31, 2021, with official confirmation that the site is back up and running.

Despite a slow start informing players that there were issues with Roblox, the account is now regularly sharing updates on the status of the site.

The Twitter page also shared a link to a , so check there if you are still having issues.

There are also a couple of unofficial "Roblox Status" accounts on Twitter that are providing updates on the situation.

It may also be worthwhile keeping an eye on for reports of any problems and check for the latest comments left.

According to the blog, Roblox has stated that "there has been no loss of player persistence data, and your Roblox experience should now be fully back to normal".
