Amazon has knocked £170 off this Roomba robot vacuum cleaner
Have you ever fancied picking up a Roomba robot but have been put off by the price?
Now might be the time to buy one, with Amazon knocking £170 off.
Roomba is the name of a range of robotic vacuum cleaners produced by the company iRobot.
The American firm first introduced ‘Roombas’ in 2002, and they’ve made appearances in some high-profile films and TV shows (Breaking Bad).
Roombas are also well-known for featuring in a 2013 viral video, where an owner's cat in a shark costume takes a ride on one of the devices.
The handy robots are much-loved, but there is a reason they’re not more popular: a high price.

Roombas can cost several hundred pounds - and even for a hands-off cleaning solution it’s a lot to invest.
The premium cost is less of an issue right now though, as Amazon has dropped the price of the Roomba 671 to £229.
That’s a big 43 per cent discount, as the model normally retails at £399 - even as one of the more affordable models.
iRobot’s Roomba 671 is designed to work across multiple floor surfaces, and to automatically adjusts its height for optimal cleaning.
Designed to prove effective for picking up small and larger debris, the Roomba 671 should also lend a hand with pet hair.
As a high-tech bit of home cleaning kit, it uses infra-red and radio frequency technology to navigate rooms.
And it can be controlled or activated remotely via WiFi through the My Roomba app, or via Alexa or Google Home enabled smart speakers.
If you want to set and forget a cleaning regime, the Roomba 67 also allows you to schedule up to seven days-worth of activity.
It can't climb stairs, but it can return itself to a wall-mounted charging station - best kept out of the way.
The Roomba 671 isn't a cheap bit of kit, but it is than normal.
