When is Apple’s next iPhone out? The TWO most likely iPhone 12 release dates revealed

APPLE is almost certainly preparing a top-secret iPhone – and it’s probably going to come out later this year.

Thankfully the fruity firm operates like clockwork, so guessing the elusive iPhone 12 release date isn’t too tricky.

What is the iPhone 12?

Apple is expected to launch at least three new iPhone models in September – and maybe even four.

Given that last year’s trio was named ‘iPhone 11’, it seems safe to assume we’ll get the iPhone 12 this year.

It’s likely we’ll see something along the lines of an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

All eyes are on Apple for a spectacular line-up too.

The 2019 roster of iPhone models wasn’t hugely different from the previous year.

But now industry insiders are expecting Apple to launch its first 5G iPhone model.

Rival phone makers have also charged ahead with all-screen front designs – and Apple could follow suit.

Sadly, Apple is keeping the final design and specs of its next smartphone top secret.

But reliable leaks will start emerging in the weeks running up to the launch, and that might be in the very near future.

iPhone 12 release date – when is it out?

Apple likes to launch new iPhone models at the same time each year.

It keeps cash flowing, gives customers a reason to upgrade, and makes investors happy.

The big launch event always takes place in September, and generally falls early on in the month.

Importantly, it typically happens on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

For instance, here are some recent iPhone announcements:

• iPhone 6s – September 9, 2015 ( Wednesday)
• iPhone 7 – September 16, 2016 (Friday)
• iPhone 8 – September 12, 2017 (Tuesday)
• iPhone XS – September 12, 2018 (Wednesday)
• iPhone 11 – September 10, 2019 (Tuesday)

This year, it’s a tricky choice.

The date could quite easily be Wednesday, September 9.

Or Apple could hold a later event on Tuesday, September 15.

September 8 and September 16 are also possible, but seem less likely.

In any case, iPhone release dates always come around a week-and-a-half later, on a Friday.

• iPhone 6s – September 25, 2015 (Friday)
• iPhone 7 – September 16, 2016 (Friday)
• iPhone 8 – September 22, 2017 (Friday)
• iPhone XS – September 21, 2018 (Friday)
• iPhone 11 – September 20, 2019 (Friday)

Based on that history, we’d expect the iPhone 12 to launch in stores on Friday, September 18 or Friday, September 25.

This release date will depend on the whether Apple chooses an earlier or later launch event.

The only thing potentially standing in Apple’s way this year is the global health crisis.

This could scupper the usual launch roadmap.

After all, Chinese factories were hit hard – putting strain on Apple’s supply chain.

It’s possible that we could see new iPhone models announced in September, but with retail releases delayed until October or November.

However, Apple is a huge, profitable and flexible company, so it’s not hard to imagine them weathering the storm and releasing an iPhone 12 on time.
