Apple ‘leak’ teases FOUR new iPhone 12 models – including tiny ‘iPhone Mini’

APPLE will release four new iPhones this summer, if the latest rumours are to be believed.

Among the mobiles allegedly lined up for launch is a "mini" iPhone – the company's smallest in three years.

The compact contraption will boast a display measuring just 5.4in, according to Dutch tech site .

Citing various unnamed sources, the publication reported Monday that Apple's new line of handsets will come under the umbrella name "iPhone 12".

There'll be a 6.1in base iPhone 12, a 6.1in iPhone 12 Pro, a 6.7in iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the mini.

While similar in size, the 12 and 12 Pro will differ in the number of cameras: Two and three, respectively.

As with Apple's most recent mobiles, the iPhone 11 series, we can expect the rear triple camera array to include wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

Renders suggest they'll be nestled in a square nodule in the top left-hand corner of the handset.

At 5.4in, the mini will be Apple's tiniest mobile since 2017's iPhone 8 (4.7in).

It'll fit easily in the palm with a design that goes against the recent trend of "bigger is always better" followed by the world's leading smartphone makers.

All four iPhones will have 5G and super-fast 120 Hz displays, according to Let'sGoDigital.

Of course, there's also no way of confirming this leak – so it could be completely wrong.

Apple hasn't confirmed any plans for an iPhone 12 yet, so take all rumours and leaks with a pinch of salt.

We won't know the truth until much closer to September 2020, when Apple's next iPhones are likely to launch.

Rumours suggest Apple is primed for a radical redesign for the iPhone 12.

For a start, they will apparently do away with the "notch" on the front of the display.

Ever since 2017's iPhone X, Apple has had a small notch that juts into the top of the screen.

It houses the selfie camera and scanners for the Face ID unlocking system, allowing Apple to have a nearly all-screen front.

But Android rivals are increasingly doing away with the notch altogether, so it's possible Apple will follow suit.

Another key change is the framing of the device – the iPhone 12 will apparently have squared-off metal edging.

Ever since the iPhone 6, Apple has used smooth and curved edges.

But previous phones like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 had had square edges, which proved very popular with fans.

Many are hoping Apple will return to this more industrial design style with the iPhone 12.
