PS5 exclusive games – all the titles you could be playing on launch day
SONY'S next PlayStation hits shelves later this year, and it's sure to come with a raft of exciting exclusive games.
From the action-packed Uncharted series to nerve-shredding zombie thriller The Last of Us, PlayStation fans have had the pick of the bunch when it comes to exclusives over the past few years. But what can we expect from the PS5?
There's already talk of big-budget followups to God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn joining the console's lineup of launch titles when it goes on sale ahead of Christmas 2020.
A sequel to The Last of Us is also in the works, and a second Bloodborne seems a no-brainer following the popularity of the original.
Each game will take full advantage of the console's gorgeous graphics, hyper-fast loading times and overhauled controller design.
We've summed up the confirmed and rumoured titles coming to the console below.
PS5 Exclusive Games List
The Last of Us 2 – The hotly-anticipated sequel to 2013's The Last of Us has already been confirmed for a PS4 release in May 2019. You can bet that Sony will be keen to release the zombie shooter for the PS5, too. If it's anything like the first one, gamers can expect highly tense and violent combat laced with award-winning story telling.
God of War 2 – After a highly successful PS4 reboot, we can fully expect to see the God of War series making its way to PS5. Rumoured for a 2020 release, it will be exclusive to PlayStation.
Horizon Zero Dawn 2 – This PlayStation exclusive title is set in a futuristic world in which humans battle it out with giant robots. The highly-acclaimed first Horizon came out in 2017 and you can put your house on a sequel launching soon.
Spider-Man 2 – The PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man reboot was a huge success when it launched in 2018, with more than 9million gamers picking up a copy. The sequel is unconfirmed, but we can expect to see it sometime in 2021, right after the launch of Sony's next-gen console.
Bloodborne 2 – The original Bloodborne – a dark action-adventure set in a plague-ridden city – was a huge hit, with players still singing the 2015 masterpiece's praises today. It seems pretty nailed on then that creator Hidetaka Miyazaki will be working on a followup for Sony's new console.
