Here’s what you need to know about hosting a great summer party.
Guests
Spontaneity is always fun but summer is a busy time. People will make plans, especially in the nice weather.

Make sure to give your guests enough notice so that they have your party circled in the diary.
Who are you inviting? Is it family, friends or a combination of both? Do you want to mix social groups or stick to just inviting the friends from one group?
Let your guests know whether it’s for the whole family or if they need to find a babysitter.
Food and drink
There will always be dietary requirements from at least one guest!

Creating it yourself guarantees that every song is on trend with the vibe that you want your party to have but will require time and effort in advance.
A music streaming service could be a good combination of hassle free and the songs being good (thanks to shuffle suggestions) but you might need to pay for the app if its advert free.
Depending on how many people are coming, you could assign someone else to play DJ for the night or suggest that everyone pick a song and make a playlist out of the requests.
Decorations
If your party is more of a casual affair, you might not bother decorating.
That being said, if there’s a theme or it’s an occasion such as a birthday, a few decorations are a good idea.
You can buy multipacks that come with a variety of decoration options that all keep to a colour scheme or theme.
Always allow more time than you think to decorate!
Also, make sure that you have ways to stick down or hasten the decorations.
Don’t rely on how much you think you have in the cupboard; it will not be as much as you thought you had.
Weather plans
It’s summer, the forecast is for nice weather, this is surely an outdoor event… right?
It’s also the UK.
Plan something outdoors and there is a significant chance that the heavens will open at some point.
That’s okay, so long as you have a backup plan. Have an indoor space ready to host everyone if it’s no longer possible to be outside.
