How far can £10 get you when playing in Sun Bingo’s 90-ball rooms?
THIS week, I changed my tactic for how to choose where to play with my £10. Rather than choose a theme, I decided to play in rooms that offered solely 90-ball bingo games.
90-ball bingo is often seen as the UK’s most common bingo form. So, this felt like a patriotic choice.

Same budget as always, I had my tea and sweet treat at the ready.
Let’s see how I got on!
The brew
I had peppermint tea from a blue floral mug – in honour of springtime!
The biccy
I slightly broke the biscuit rules again! I had pink and white doughnut bites with strawberry and cream flavoured sprinkles… they were very good!

The bingo
With the herbal tea to bring me a sense of calm, and the doughnut bites to give me an energy boost, I seemed to find a neutral, balanced mindset.
Just what’s needed for bingo!
Sun Bingo can help you filter by what kind of room you want to play in.
In the bingo lobby, you can select the “90 ball” tab and it’ll show you all the rooms that play exclusively 90-ball games.
- Candy Room
- £1.70 spent, no winnings
I had sugar on the brain. I thought a trip to the Candy Room might help.
I played two games, both were 10p Bingo! sessions, where you don’t get prizes for guessing how much the tickets cost (although, it would be a lot of fun if you did).
Although I managed to get to 2TG in the first game, this wasn’t the game for me.
The next session was a 50p stake that also didn’t add to my winnings pot.
HOW TO PLAY THE FLUFFY FAVOURITES SLOT
This was a shame because the All Winners feature was enabled. So, had I won the 1L, 2L or full house, I would have received six tickets to today’s daily game in the All Winners Room, as well as six tickets to the weekly game on Sunday.
Maybe one day I’ll see behind the red velvet rope of that hallowed room…
- Penny Press
- £1.70 spent, no winnings
The heart of bingo is the community, and the chat that you can have alongside the games.
So, while playing in a couple of the 1p Loose Change! games, I wanted to find out what waffle toppings everyone liked best!
There were calls for banana and squirty cream, raspberries and ice cream and even maple syrup with blueberries (who knew bingo players were so fruit mad).
While most of the games have an accompanying chat, the Small Talk room is a good chance to just generally chit chat, no matter which room you’re playing in.
Plus, it often seems to have the most roomies. I got so absorbed in the chat, I nearly forgot that I had bingo tickets!
Thank you auto dab! I realised I was 1TG on the full house… I just needed 36… Come on 36… I felt like every number BUT 36 was called… 36 didn’t get called in time and someone else got the full house.
I’ve decided 36 is not my lucky number.

- Age of the Gods Bingo
- £3.00 spent, no winnings
What atmospheric music this room has! Thundery clouds roll back and you’re swept away on this audio journey of mystery and suspense.
A great backing track to a bingo session! There are claps of thunder when someone wins, which is brilliantly dramatic, and mildly terrifying when you aren’t expecting it.
During Storm the Canteen, I got a chance to see the Arena of the Gods feature play out.
As the coins revealed three Hades, this meant that the full house winner got 100% of the full house prize (clearly someone is in favour with the bingo gods!)
The name of this session made me hungry. I asked my fellow roomies whether they liked a sweet or savoury snack.
The correct answer is in fact a savour snack, specifically Monster Munch crisps (although, shout out to the roomie with the suggestion of beef and horseradish flavoured crisps, please keep living your best life).
- Romance Room
- £3.60 spent, £5.74 won
When the Romance Room finally awoke from its beauty sleep, I jumped straight in.
Both games were 10p Duo-Bingo Link! and it was so much fun to finally try the duo bingo feature.
In these games, you get randomly partnered with a fellow player and if they win 1L, 2L or full house, you get a special prize – and vice versa.
THESE SEVEN CHANGES TO WEEKEND PLANS MAY SOUND FAMILIAR
It was a really nice experience because when I won 1L, not only did I get £5.74, but my buddy also got £5 (you’re welcome!)
I’m clearly not the only fan of this feature as both games had over 150 players.
There is quite a nervous moment before your buddy’s chat name is announced, I imagine it’s how the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing feel as they’re waiting to find out who their professional will be.
How much could you win?
I played for a little longer this week, 1 hour and 15 minutes. I think that’s because there was a waiting time between some of the rooms’ games starting, and, as they were 90-ball games, they took longer to play out.
It’s something to think about when you’re deciding which format to play.
Also, I was very engaged with the roomies chat at the same time. With bingo, you notice that part of the experience comes from the chat rooms, rather than just the game play.
That’s how I learnt that I’m not the only one who thinks spring is nicer than summer!
Also, I had a lot of support for starting a petition to make it illegal to have to work when it’s sunny.
Stay tuned on that front, I’ll try my best!
As for my £5.74, there’s only one way to cure a sweet treat hankering:
- A build-your-own waffle with mini marshmallows from my local ice cream parlour for £5.70
